Procedure For filling seat allocation in NIFT College


The Admission Seat Allocation Rules stated herein will be followed for allocating seats for the all academic programs for the Academic Year -2023. 2. A candidate chooses and applies to a series of academic programs in the order of preference. In the context of seat allocation, an “academic program” refers to the combination of academic program/ course and campus. For example, a 4-year Bachelor of Design (B.Des) in Fashion Communication at NIFT Delhi is referred to as an “academic program”. For example, a 4- year Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech) in Apparel Production at NIFT Bengaluru is one academic programme. For example, a 2-year Master of Fashion Technology (M.F. Tech), Master of Design (M. Des) or Master of Fashion Management (MFM) at NIFT Bengaluru are each separate academic programs. A seat of the highest possible preference of academic program is allocated to the candidate considering the following factors: (i) The category of the candidate [Open, Open-EWS, Open -PwD OBC-NCL, , OBC-NCLPwD, SC, SC-PwD, ST, ST-PwD, State Domicile, Kashmiri migrant foreign national/NRI or artisan/children of artisan]. (ii) The merit rank of the candidate in respective Rank list(s). (iii) The order of preference of academic programs chosen by the candidate. (iv) The availability of seats in different seat categories / seat quotas for which the candidate is eligible. (v) Recommendation of the Assessment Committee for PWD candidates. (vi) Other seat allocation rules as mentioned in this document.
